There are things you will need to consider, including licence requirements, before applying for a pre-retail licence.
Wholesalers, producers, brewers and liquor importers would normally apply for a pre-retail licence.
Trading hour restrictions do not apply with this type of liquor licence. A pre-retail licence permits the wholesale supply of liquor at any time and on any premises.
New data collection and reporting requirements for liquor wholesalers applies from 1 July 2015. For more information, see Wholesale Sales Data - collecting and reporting.
A business name certificate is required if an individual or partnership is applying for a liquor licence, or if the trading name of the business registered with Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) is different to the company's name or incorporated club's name.
A copy of the business name certificate from ASIC is required. To register your business name, go to the ASIC website for more information.
