To protect the solemn observance of ANZAC Day, trading hours for licensed venues are restricted at certain times on 25 April.
For licensees wishing to trade during restricted times, applications for temporary limited licences and major event licences will be considered by Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR) .
Applications must include a letter of support from your local R.S.L Club or R.S.L Victoria detailing the proposed event and how it relates to the commemorative activities of ANZAC Day. The VCGLR must be satisfied that the supply of alcohol is in connection with commemorative activities and will be consistent with the solemn observance of the day. More information on the application process is available here.
Some licence categories including RSL Club or Sub-RSL clubs are exempt from this requirement. Visit the ANZAC Day trading restrictions page for more information on exemptions and trading hour allowances for ANZAC Day.
