VCGLR inspectors will be out and about ensuring licensees meet their obligations this Australia Grand Prix.
Keeping an eye on the action happening off the track is the key focus for the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR) at this year’s Formula 1™ Australian Grand Prix.
VCGLR inspectors will be focused on monitoring the responsible service of alcohol, minors on premises and local area amenity to ensure all have a safe and enjoyable race experience.
Under Victorian liquor laws, licensees must not supply alcohol to a person who is intoxicated, permit a minor on premises without a responsible adult, and to ensure the operation of their event does not detract from the amenity of the area.
The VCGLR will have a continuous presence on track days and in the lead up to the event, targeting not only the licensed and ticketed areas but all general public areas throughout the track and surrounding area.
A pre-inspection of the vicinity along with licensee and security consultations will occur in the lead up to the event to ensure all stakeholders are aware of their responsibilities.
