Licensees in the City of Melbourne and City of Ballarat are being urged to apply now if they want to trade during White Night Festivities in 2018.
White Night, a night time celebration of culture and creativity, will be held in Melbourne on Saturday 17 February 2018 and in Ballarat on Saturday 18 March 2018.
Last year the VCGLR approved 41 applications for licensed venues to trade during White Night.
Any licensee wishing to trade during White Night in 2018 outside their regular licensed hours requires a Major Event licence.
Following registration with White Night organisers, licensees need to apply to the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation for the licence.
Applications should be lodged with the VCGLR no later than 15 January 2018 for White Night Melbourne and 12 February 2018 for White Night Ballarat.
All licences issued for White Night events will be required to comply with specific conditions:
In 2018 White Night will also be taking place in Bendigo on 1 September and Geelong on 13 October for the first time.
Information for licensees in those areas will be provided in 2018.
