Year 12 students will soon be finishing up their studies and celebrating School leavers (also known as ‘Schoolies’) by heading to popular tourist destinations in Victoria.
Larger crowds, intoxication and underage patrons are some of the increased risks for School leaver celebrations that both gambling and liquor licensees may face.
To help lower these risks for your venue and ensure patron safety this School leavers, the following resources are available to help you and your staff:
Venues with gaming areas need to ensure staff are monitoring patrons and all entry points to the gaming area so that under 18s do not enter.
If your liquor licence allows for the delivery of alcohol, make sure ID is being checked both at the point of sale and before handing over the delivery by staff and any contractors.
